About GG’s Youth Club
Following the closure of Staffordshire County Council’s Youth club, GG’s Youth Club opened its doors in April 2016 and welcomed many young people from day one. The club went from strength to strength and soon felt it necessary to have two groups, junior and senior with activities planned and delivered to suit the different ages of members. Every week crafts, baking, board games and sports with outdoor sports during the summer months were delivered and trips were organised every now and again.
Our youth club has been keen to get involved with village events including the carnival with its own decorated float, GFest and village fun & activity days.
Sadly in March 2020 the Youth Club had to close because of the Covid pandemic and has been closed since. However, with restrictions now eased a new youth leader is being sought
The first job for the committee is to appoint a Youth Leader and anyone interested should contact the Clerk, Jayne Cooper, for more information and an application form – tel: 01785 822685 or email clerk@gnosallparishcouncil.org.uk
It will then be necessary to recruit volunteers, without committed volunteers the youth club will not be able to open. If you are interested, please get in touch. Volunteering doesn’t have to be every week, we operate a rota system to suit everyone involved.
Duke of Edinburgh students are also welcome to join us as part of the volunteer section of the award. Several students have, in the past, successfully completed their volunteer work at our youth club and gone on to pass their DofE Awards.
Then, most importantly, we need to recruit members. Initially GG’s will be open for children in school years 4, 5 & 6 and not restricted to children from Gnosall, we welcome children from surrounding areas and other schools. If you think your child(ren) would benefit from attending GG’s Youth Club, taking part in activities, meeting other children then please get in touch for further information.
